Eco-friendly hub launches in former home of Rutland Refill
Oakham Refill Shoppe opened its doors for the first time yesterday, 23 October.
The new eco-friendly café, shop and community hub launched following the collapse of Rutland Refill last month.
Located on the Melton Road-Westgate junction, Rutland Refill was run by Jenni Penfold for just over two years, until it encountered financial difficulty.
Wendy, who was a dedicated member of the Rutland Refill team decided to take on the shop, maintaining the same passion for the environment, customers and great service, but with a greater focus on workshops and other activities, with the hope of placing the hub at the heart of the community.
As well as offering the same refill and eco-friendly products and services as Rutland Refill, and serving cakes, coffees and more in store, the rebranded shop will be running a range of workshops to help engage the local community.
These workshops launched yesterday with the reopening of the venue.
To celebrate their grand opening, the team hosted a free pumpkin making workshop, and stitched up a whopping 38 fabric pumpkins in time for Halloween.
The team also launched their winter schedule of classes and workshops, which you can find out more about on Facebook, or book by popping into the shop or dropping the team a message.
