Oakham Nub News is saying farewell to Evie, who has been the Regional Editor of the site for nearly three years.

Evie said: "It has been a pleasure to bring local news to the people of Oakham and Rutland over the last (nearly) three years.

"In this time, I have had the privilege of covering local events, businesses and success stories, as well as a royal visit, a coronation, a Jubilee, a General Election, local elections, fundraisers and much more. I also covered the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth, the installation of her statue and other historic moments for the county and the country, and have been touched by the response from local people throughout my tenure.

"I have also experienced the joys of working with incredible local sponsors and meeting many Rutland residents, who have welcomed me as a part of the community. This ongoing support has helped the site reach over 4,500 Facebook followers and over 1,000 newsletter subscribers - two milestones that we reached just last week!

"As such, I would like to say thank you to the local people who have supported me, shared their news and contributed to Oakham Nub News since I took the reins in 2021.

"While working for Nub News Ltd. I have learned a great deal - as well as getting engaged, married and completing my PhD - but now it is time for me to move along and continue with the next stage of my career and life."

Evie will soon begin her new role as a Content Writer, but hopes to see you around Rutland, so "please, do stop to say hi."

Evie's last day with Nub News will be 12 July 2024.
