Police are investigating after a fatal road traffic collision on the A6003 at Gunthorpe.

Officers were called at around 1.30am this morning (25 October) by East Midlands Ambulance Service to a report of a single vehicle collision which occurred north of Lyndon Road.

It involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van which was travelling towards Oakham.

The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remains closed between Gunthorpe and Manton while investigators continues their enquiries at the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle before the collision or the collision itself to get in touch. Alternatively anyone with dash cam footage which may have captured something related to this incident, we would also like to speak to.
