Local residents are being invited to Oakham Market next week to find out more about changes to costs for local services.

Rutland County Council is currently is facing a £2.5 million hike in the cost of essential services, and is currently working on the budget for 2024/5.

Currently the budget proposes a 2.99 per cent increase in council tax plus a two per cent precept to help fund adult social care services.

If approved, the average Council Tax increase for a Band D equivalent property would be £1.93 per week.

Residents wishing to find out more can head to Oakham Market on January 24 to talk with councillors about the draft budget.

Councillors will be there from 10am to 1pm.
