On Saturday 11th May, Prickleback Urchins Hedgehog Rescue hosted their fourth annual fundraiser quiz, this year raising an incredible £1,500 towards their latest project and covering the charity's vital fundraising costs.

Founders Rachel and Jason are currently working towards an ambitious £10,000 fundraising goal to build a cabin in memory of Jason's late dad, who passed away last year. His dad was a huge supporter of all things Prickleback and the cabin will provide more valuable space for housing poorly hedgehogs in their care.

This new space will include bespoke veterinary grade enclosures, as well as three maternity enclosures for nursing and expectant mothers in their care. This will increase their capacity and mean they have more space in other areas of the rescue to take in more hedgehogs in need.

Speaking after the quiz, Rachel said: "We are so grateful to everyone who came along to support us and a massive thank you to everyone who took part and gave so generously to the raffle."

The fundraised will be split between going towards their new cabin and being used to cover current running costs as vet bills, medication, food and the specialist equipment they need to run the rescue day-to-do come at a huge cost to the charity.
