A free cyber crime information event is being staged in Oakham next month.
The event, on Monday, 10 February, at Oakham Fire Station, South Street, is being hosted by Home Instead Senior Care in association with Leicestershire Police and the UK Safer Internet Centre.
The aim is to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for people of all ages and computing abilities.
The session will run from 1pm to 3pm with a talk from the Leicestershire Police Cyber Crime Team starting at 1.30pm.
Information stands and representatives from other local agencies will be on-hand for one-to-one conversations with attendees about internet safety and how to keep personal data secure when online.
A Home Instead Senior Care spokesperson said: "At Home Instead Rutland we aim to go above and beyond when it comes to supporting our local community.
"We regularly host scam awareness talks and Dementia Friends information sessions to help ensure that the public can gain further knowledge to help to support their more vulnerable family, friends and neighbours.
"We would like to invite members of the public to join us on 10 February so we can all be informed, reassured and educated regarding personal internet security and how we can stay safe online."
Anyone unable to attend the full session is welcome to pop in and ask any questions they may have. All speakers and stand holders will be present for the entire event.
Home Instead specialises in providing older people with non-medical care, including supporting people with dementia to remain living independently in their own homes.
