For Rutland were delighted to receive a very generous donation of £1,000 from the Freemasons of the Vale of Catmos Lodge in Oakham.

The Vale of Catmos Lodge raised £500 which was then match funded to bring the total to £1,000, a most welcome boost to the funds that For Rutland raises every year to pay for Specialist Advisers at Citizens Advice Rutland in Oakham.

The Advisers provide non-medical advice and support to people of all ages to manage living with the consequences of long-term health conditions.

The cheque was presented by the Worshipful Master Ian Scantlebury to Jeannette Warner, Chair of For Rutland. Mr Scantlebury said: "Thank you to For Rutland, you do fantastic work for the Rutland community, and we are very happy to support you".

Receiving the cheque, Mrs Warner said: "We are celebrating our tenth year of fundraising for Citizens Advice Rutland and in that time, the Specialist Advisers have gained over £9.2 million for local people in the form of grants, debt write offs and benefit claims. So, we are delighted to have the support of the Vale of Catmos Lodge which comes with the recognition of the vital work carried out by the Specialist Advisers we fund."
