This Christmas, Nub News wants to hear from you.

We have already launched our definitive December events round up, but there is still time to add your event!

Are you celebrating Christmas with a community event, or holding a festive market, play, social or fundraiser this December? Alternatively, are you seeing the New Year in in style?

Let us know by 'Nubbing It' with Oakham Nub News.

To begin sharing your events with us for FREE, head to our What's On page.

Near the top of the page, underneath the heading 'WHAT'S ON AND THINGS TO DO IN OAKHAM' you will find a black button reading 'Nub It'. Click this button.

This will take you to the next page where you will be given the chance to manually fill in your event.

The first step is to title your event and add a category. Once you have added a title, click the drop down menu and select your event category.

If you aren't sure what category your event falls in to, click 'Miscellaneous' and we can try and help you categorise your event.

Then you must add the event location and website, where relevant. If you have no website, it might be worth adding a Facebook event or group, if you have set one up, so that readers know how to get in touch.

The next step will be to type your main text. You can do this in the 'content' section, selecting font, format and including all of the relevant information that you wish to share.

After that, you can drag and drop one image to help advertise your event, whether that be a flyer, poster, map, image of the location or picture of what can be expected at the event.

You can drag and drop from the photos on your device or computer, or browse by clicking the underlined 'Browse' button.

Don't forget to caption your photo.

You are nearly done now, and only need to add the event date, your name, and a relevant email address so that we can get in touch if we need any further information from you.

These personal details will only be visible to the editing team and will not be published on your final event article.

If you are a business, we encourage you to include your website in the main content section, as this will help local people reach you.

Make sure you click save and wait for the page to refresh before closing.

Then it is our turn.

We will vet your event, edit where necessary, and share it as soon as we can. If it is a weekend event, we may even share it in our weekly round up, helping you reach a larger audience.

If this is a bit technical for you though, we encourage you to get in touch by emailing: [email protected]. Don't worry if writing isn't your cup of tea. We can help you craft an event advert and reach the wider community.

You can also get in touch via our Facebook page.
