In January, we asked Have GP services in Rutland improved? Rutland residents answered, and while feedback is mixed, many have said 'no'.
The survey, released by Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland NHS, asks which practice you are registered with, how easy phone access is, how friendly or helpful staff were, which services you have used and more.
As well as completing the survey, residents shared their opinions with Nub News, and many shared their experiences struggling to get appointments, of busy phone lines and being directed to 111.
On whether or not services have improved, one resident commented: "Definitely not. It's impossible to get an appointment at my surgery, it seems to have become a dispensary only."
Another said: "NO, NO, NO, if anything it has got worse."
One Nub News reader commented: "It is very easy to be critical of GP surgeries but the real problem is that we are short of GPs. We are many doctors short in Rutland, not just in Oakham, Market Overton and Somerby too used to have many more. The NHS is on the brink of collapse."
Another urged users to complete the survey, which can be found online: "I've just completed the survey - it doesn't take long and you can select the surgery you are answering questions about. If we all took the survey and you gave our feedback, maybe things would change."
Meanwhile, a user of Market Overton commented that service has been good at the rural surgery, while and Uppingham resident added: "Having moved from the South East we are delighted with Uppingham Surgery. First class responsiveness, reasonable appointment availability, great attention to detail, good systems. Maybe different elsewhere in Rutland but I'm impressed!"
While feedback is not all bad, an overwhelming amount of Oakham Nub News readers said that they had seen little improvements or had negative stories to share about Rutland's surgeries and medical centres.
The survey is still open, and residents are encouraged to complete the five to 10 minute online questionnaire to help support the continued improvement of Rutland GP services.
If you have limited access to the internet, a questionnaire can be collected from your GP practice, or a hard copy questionnaire can be obtained by emailing: [email protected] or telephone: 0116 295 7532.
The survey can be completed online taking between five and 10 minutes to complete, and the deadline is Sunday 10 March.
