Have you seen inside Rutland's newest garden centre yet?
Rutland's newest garden centre opened last month.
On 27 May, Rutland Nursery at Manton opened its doors for the first time following a highly-anticipated expansion.
Formerly Rutland Water Garden Centre, the venue has seen a large and modern renovation, which includes a new 100-seater restaurant, shops, large outdoor and indoor gardening displays and a generous car park containing bike parks and electric vehicle chargers.
The Ellis family who own the site have not revealed how much the development cost, but said that they have been "warmed" by "the generosity of good wishes and overwhelmingly positive comments" since reopening.
The restaurant, 'The View' serves a range of breakfast and lunch options from 9am until 3pm, Monday to Saturday, with cakes and coffees served until 5pm, when the centre closes. The venue is also open from 10am until 4pm on Sunday.
On top of their new restaurant, offering panoramic views across the water, they also have a courtyard cake and coffee shop called The Hut, and a large shop selling homeware, camping goods, gifts and much more.
The main body of the substantial development consists of glass houses, outdoor plants and garden additions, including sculptures and garden structures, and flowers, shrubs, climbers and fruit trees.
Finally, tucked away at the rear of the development is the already well-established Hoggy's Grill, a BBQ experience run by Matthew Hoggard, the former England cricketer.
Read more about Hoggy's in an exclusive interview conducted by Oakham Nub News last year.
Work began on the development in 2021.
