Have your say: Government consultation on local government reorganisation in Leicestershire and Rutland opens

The government have launched their official consultation on local government reorganisation in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, giving local people the opportunity to give their opinion on proposals.
The consultation includes the three different proposals, including two by Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council and a third proposal from Blaby District Council, Charnwood Borough Council, Harborough District Council, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, Melton Borough Council, North West Leicestershire District Council, Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, and Rutland County Council.
The consultation can be completed online or in writing and includes a lot of background information about the current role of local government and how this could change in the future.
The consultation is open until 23:59 on 26 March 2026.
