Head-on collision on A47 near Uppingham - police appealing for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a head-on collision involving a van and a taxi on the A47 near Uppingham this morning (Tuesday).
Four people were injured in the incident which happened at 8.05am with the small black Ford van travelling away from Uppingham towards Glaston.
Two men - the driver of the small black Ford van and a passenger in the gold coloured taxi - were taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where they remain.
The woman taxi driver, a girl passenger in the taxi suffered minor injuries and were taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, anyone who remembers seeing the two vehicles just before the collision, or who may have dashcam footage of the collision.
DS Paul Hawkins, from the force's serious collision investigation unit, said: "If anyone was travelling in either direction on the A47 this morning, I'd like to speak to you.
"It happened at a busy time of the day, and I know there were a number of cars on the road.
"Any footage you may have, no matter how small you think it may be, it might help us piece together what happened in this collision."

The road remained closed for a number of hours following the incident, but has since been reopened.
