A horse rider has been charged with one count of common assault following an incident in Whissendine earlier this year.

Sam Jones, of Cottesmore Road in Ashwell, Rutland, has been charged following the highly publicised event that look place in February.

The charge relates to a report of a horse colliding with a woman in her 60s on 11 February 2023.

Jones, 34, has also been charged with one count of hunting a wild mammal with dogs under Section 1 of the Hunting Act.

The charge relates to an incident in Loddington on 18 February.

Mr Jones is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday 11 August.
