Discover Rutland has hosted it's fifth fundraising ball recently, with more tickets sold than ever before, the event continues to grow in popularity year on year, and it's not hard to see why. Many local businesses pulled together to help put on a fantastic night, showcasing some of the best food and drink in the county, and keeping ticket costs affordable thanks to generous sponsors including The Falcon Hotel, Rutland Water Golf Course, Wisteria Hotel and Majestic Wine.
With welcome drinks provided by Multum Gin Parvo, a selection of delicious canapes from The Olive Branch, bread baked by Hambleton Bakery and a magnificent cheese board from Otters Fine Food, guests were in no doubt as to why the area is known as The County of Good Taste.
Rutland Hall Hotel provided an elegant setting, fantastic three course meal and an attentive service. Guests enjoyed arrival music by Steve Bean and finished the night on the dance floor with popular local band Real Monsters.
Discover Rutland is an independent Destination Management Organisation made up of a board of volunteers from the county who are passionate about promoting the area and representing their members locally, nationally and internationally. Last year's fundraising total resulted in the creation of the new Discover Rutland Food and Drink Map, featuring two cycling trails and highlighting places to buy and eat local food, as well as showcasing the array of local producers on the illustrative map.
Jason Allen, Chair of Discover Rutland and owner of The Fox in North Luffenham and The Paddock touring site near Lynton commented "The viability of such an event is only possible through the kind support and generosity of so many.
