Rutland residents are coming up on their last chance to catch the current exhibition at Rutland County Museum.

Discover iconic pottery designs from the past which are still much-loved today at Rutland County Museum - but only for a limited time as the exhibition gets ready to close.

The 1950s was an exciting and innovative period for ceramic design. Potteries set about changing the shape and pattern of everyday tableware with new freeform shapes and bold, stylised, and abstract decoration.

The exhibition includes examples from the main producers of this new distinctive style including Midwinter, Ridgway, Poole and Hornsea. It can be viewed for free during the museum's regular opening hours of Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10am - 4pm.

The exhibition closes on 2 September 2023, but with electrical works and a bank holiday disrupting opening times, there are only three chances to catch the display.

Catch the exhibition on Wednesday 30 August, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September, which is the final day of 'Fashion on a Plate'.
