Local garden centre Christmas display wins award
Gates Garden Centre's iconic Christmas display has won another Garden Centre Association award.
Every year, Gates Garden Centre hosts one of the country's biggest garden centre Christmas displays, featuring decorations, light displays, a mechanical Christmas scene and much more.
The team hang approximately 100,000 decorations on a number of trees in their Christmas department, which totals over 25,000 square ft. Each tree has a different colour scheme or theme to get you inspired ahead of the festive season.
Established in 1948 by Fred and Ivy Gates, the garden centre was originally created within the walls of a large Victorian kitchen garden belonging to Cold Overton Hall. Still on the same site today, the centre has expanded considerably over the years, but still retains its "traditional family values of excellent customer service coupled with great value for money".
Gates is a large garden centre on the Rutland/Leicestershire border that offers over 100,000 square feett of retail and leisure facilities.
Each Christmas they open up their huge Christmas display, which offers a range of products and a spectacle for young and old.
They also set up an impressive moving display that, each year, enchants children and adults alike.
Now, the team's annual display has been recognised in the GCA awards for the third year running.
Gates has now won the prestigious GCA award for Best Destination Garden Centre in the Midlands Region for the third year running and was again voted in the top three in the UK.
