Gates Garden Centre's iconic Christmas display opened on 30 September, and with it a brand new addition to accommodate the festive fun at the large, family-friendly garden centre.

Every year, Gates Garden Centre host one of the country's biggest garden centre Christmas displays, featuring decorations, light displays, a mechanical Christmas scene and much more.

The team have hung approximately 100,000 decorations on a number of trees in their Christmas department, which totals over 25,000 square ft.

To accommodate the huge display, the team have opened a brand new feature, 'The Barn'.

Established in 1948 by Fred and Ivy Gates, the garden centre was originally created within the walls of a large Victorian kitchen garden belonging to Cold Overton Hall. Still on the same site today, the centre has expanded considerably over the years, but still retains its "traditional family values of excellent customer service coupled with great value for money".

Each Christmas they open up their huge Christmas display, which offers a range of products including Christmas trees, novelty Christmas items and games, moving displays and more.

This year's display is even bigger, meaning that the team have had to add 'The Barn' to their collection of buildings and attractions.

'The Barn' can be located at the far end of the garden centre, near to the rear of the inside Christmas display and hot tub shop.
