A local gift shop has announced that it will be closing after Christmas.
Peeky's Quirky Gifts, owned by Stephen and Kelly Brant, will be closing in January, and the team will be hosting a closing down sale over the Christmas period.
Partners in marriage and business, Stephen and Kelly Brant opened the doors to Peeky's in January 2023, selling handmade and one-off gifts and furniture in the former home of Shoecraft on South Street.
Christmas was set to be the decider for the shop, with the hope that a boost in festive trade would save the day for the independent store.
However, this was not destined to be, and the duo will be closing the doors on their venture in January, a year after the shop opened.
Peeky's Quirky Gifts stocks a range of gifts, furniture and handmade items, made by Stephen and Kelly - many of which you will be able to pick up at a reduced rate as the pair sell off stock, old and new.
Those who have used the shop over the last year have reported "friendly service, extremely good value and a diverse range of extraordinary and well made bits and bobs", and "a great local shop run by a creative pair".
From stocking fillers, to show-stopping gifts, the South Street venue stocks a huge range of items, with prices starting at £2.
The duo also sell a range of larger furniture and household items, as well as providing innovative storage solutions and outdoor furniture and goods that you can enjoy all year round.
