Late Night Shopping returns to Oakham tonight, Monday 11 December.

With Christmas Day taking place in only two weeks, residents will be flocking to the heart of Oakham this evening for the annual late night shopping event, organised by Carolyn Acton-Reed of Oakham & Rutland Events.

Oakham High Street, Mill Street and Market Place will once again play host to the annual Late Night Shopping event ahead of Christmas.

Shops will be open late, allowing local revellers to pick up some Christmas gifts ahead of the big day in only two weeks.

On top of final shopping opportunities, the event will bring games, stalls, food, local sellers and entertainment for all the family.

Santa will also be busy from 4pm until 9pm welcoming local children to the Whipper-In in Oakham Market Place.

The Crown Tavern, which is usually closed on a Monday, will also be open for the event, showing local sport and serving "the best Guinness in Oakham" according to patrons.

Rutland County Council is providing free parking in Oakham car parks for the event.

Following this, Oakham will also be hosting a Traditional Christmas event.

Other events will be taking place across Rutland on the run up to Christmas, and with only a fortnight to go, there is plenty of fun to be had at Rutland Farm Park, Ovation and other local venues.

Alternatively, head into Peeky's Quirky Gifts for a range of reduced gifts and Christmas decorations as the shop announces that it will be closing after Christmas.
