Prickleback Urchin Hedgehog Rescue celebrated its third birthday this weekend, raising essential funds so they can continue the care and rehabilitation of sick or injured hedgehogs.

The celebration was hosted at Market Overton Bowls Club and attended by 50 local people, all ready to celebrate the hard work of Rachel, Jason and their volunteers.

Through ticket sales and a raffle, the charity raised £540 in total, all of which will help them to continue their hard work.

The event was bought to life by Smokestack Blues Band, who played the perfect soundtrack for the event and had everyone up on their feet dancing.

Speaking to Rachel, who runs Prickleback Urchins with her partner Jason, she said: "it was an amazing night for our third birthday.

"We are so busy right now, we have helped over 360 hedgehogs so far this year and we're at full capacity at the moment!"

Rachel and Jason work hard alongside both having full time jobs to care for and rehabilitate local hedgehogs, as well as ones bought in from as far away as Cambridge.

Their love for the work they do and the hedgehogs they care for is undeniable and it is clear that their birthday fundraiser was a prickly success!
