A local pub has welcomed its third budgie chick of the year.

The Plough, a pet and family-friendly pub in the heart of Greetham, have announced the arrival of a new addition to the venue this week.

The team, who regularly host animal-friendly events, and have raised money for the likes of National Military Working Dogs Memorial UK, pride themselves on being "possibly one of the most dog-friendly pubs in Rutland".

Now, following a successful beer festival last week, the team have more good news for the animal lovers out there.

The team shared: "We have some more fabulous news. We have our third baby budgie of the year!

"This little one is now two weeks old and is doing really well. Mum and dad are doing a fabulous job of feeding it and we can't wait to see it grow and join the other birds in the aviary."

While the animal-friendly pub are keen to share their wonderful news, they have also asked visitors to refrain from coming too close to their newest in their brood.
