Oakham Town Council will hold a Full Council meeting on Wednesday 11 February from 6.30pm to discuss a variety of local matters.

Topics being discussed at the meeting include funding for a performance by Rutland Morris and for watering by Oakham in Bloom, the cleaning of play equipment at Cutts Close park and revision of the town's grit bin policy.

Some of the matters that will be discussed include:

  • Consideration to replace remaining old head fitments with LED head fitments for Willowbook Lights, costing around £1,000
  • The council adopts new grit bin policy
  • Approval of £250 to pay the Morris Dancers to perform on 26 April 2026 at the CICLE Race.
  • Proposal to reallocate the lighting contract and contractor repair works by the Christmas and events working group,
  • Approval to repoint the bandstand in Cutts Close park to repair deteriorating mortar joints, especially on lower courses and exposed edges and better weatherproofing,
  • Approve funding of £1,700 to Oakham in Blood to extend the watering of the town's planters,
  • Seek approval for a formal recruitment campaign to establish a dedicated team of volunteer stewards and assistants to support the delivery of current and future council-led events
