Fast-food giant McDonald's has revealed when it will open its Oakham drive-thru restaurant.

A spokesperson told Oakham Nub News today (Mon): "We can confirm that we plan to open in November.

"Unfortunately, I don't have anything more specific than that at the moment."

Plans for the McDonald's restaurant in England's only county currently without the golden arches were given the green light in January by Rutland County Council's planning and licensing committee.

The committee voted eight in favour of the application to be built on undeveloped land at Hawkesmead Business Estate, off Lands End Way, with one member abstaining.

Oakham McDonald's will create 65 full and part-time new jobs.

The company is currently recruiting for a trainee shift manager.
