Alicia Kearns, MP for Rutland and Stamford, has announced the winner of her Rutland and Stamford's Favourite Pub Awards.

Residents cast almost 2,500 votes in the competition, which was launched by the MP to celebrate the vital role local pubs play in the community, as well as highlight the current challenges facing pubs.

The Woodhouse Arms in Corby Glen was crowned the favourite pub, with The Griffin Inn in Irnham and The Green Dragon in Ryhall named as joint runners-up.

Owner of the Woodhouse Arms, Amanda Clayton said: 'We're absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to have been named Rutland and Stamford's Favourite Pub.

'Pubs are facing challenging times, so the continued support of our lovely customers means more than ever.

'We're grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us.'

'Our winner is clearly beloved in Corby Glen and beyond, it's wonderful to meet such a powerhouse group of women running such a warm and welcoming pub.
