Mental health charity Lamp is launching a new carers group in Oakham.

The first monthly meeting is being held on Thursday (18 July) at Voluntary Action Rutland, Lands End Way from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

The meeting is open to anyone from the town who is a carer of someone with mental health needs.

As well as the opportunity to meet, socialise and share experiences with other carers, there will be advice and support available, plus information on other services and groups.

And, as a special treat for the launch meeting, there will be the chance to benefit from a relaxation massage.

Lamp has provided free independent mental health advocacy and services in hospitals and the local community across Rutland, Leicester and Leicestershire since 1989.

The charity's aim is for carers to feel valued, listened to, more able to cope and to be able to access services and support.
