A new One Stop shop and Post Office has opened on Churchill Road, just off of Braunston Road.

The new One Stop shop opened last week, bringing back the Post Office that, for many, was a local necessity.

The need for this particular Post Office was made even more acute when, in May 2022, the McColls convenience store chain was under threat of collapse. The closure of this store would have meant that the Post Office in the heart of Oakham would have been lost.

The chain has since been saved by Morrisons, who won the battle against Asda to buy the convenience store chain on the 11th of May 2022.

With the rescue came the rescue of the McColls Post Office in the heart of Oakham. The McColls Post Office are currently looking to employ a Post Office Counter Clerk on a part-time basis. Find out more here.

Oakham local Rebecca said that the new One Stop and Post Office "is very well stocked. Well worth a visit."

Another Oakham resident, Christina, added: "Glad the Post Office is back up and running. So much more convenient than going into town."

This new store can be found on the west side of the railway tracks, on Churchill Road, and is open 7 days a week.
