A Notice of Referendum has been published for the Referendum on the Adoption of the Langham Neighbourhood Plan.
The Referendum will be held on Thursday the 15th of December 2022 to decide on the question:
'Do you want Rutland County Council to use the neighbourhood plan for the Parish Langham to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?'
This comes after the Oakham and Barleythorpe Neighbourhood Plan was passed in May of this year.
Neighbourhood Planning gives local communities the opportunity to shape development in their area through the Localism Act 2011. Full details of the Langham Neighbourhood Plan can be found online.
Anyone with questions about the Plan is advised to contact Langham Parish Council here.
More than 50% of the votes cast must be in favour of the Neighbourhood Plan to bring it into force. As the Local Planning Authority, Rutland County Council must then formally adopt the Plan within eight weeks of the referendum.
Further details can be found in the full Notice of Referendum, published online. Polling stations in the referendum will not have copies of the Neighbourhood Plan and polling staff are unable to answer any questions about the proposals.
