A local salon relocating to one of Oakham High Street's most beautiful buildings has confirmed the date of its grand opening - and it is sooner than you think!

GLOW by Gemma Adams is heading to 34 High Street Oakham after running in Gaol Street since March 2023.

GLOW was established in 2015, and was based in the beautiful Barnsdale Lodge - that has recently rebranded to become The Barnsdale.

They provide services including cuts for men, women and children, colour services, balayage, styling, extensions and more.

Now, the team are in the process of moving to new premises, and are currently working hard to transform the former home of Rutland Toys and Dance Boutique into their long-term business base.

The team, headed up by Gemma Adams, and local businesses and traders have been gutting the venue and are now applying a personal touch.

Gemma said: "This has been a huge challenge we’ve have had teams in there everyday trying to sort out the damp, mould, mushrooms and electrics. So much money and time has been spent on just getting the building to a working state, as it was worse than we previously thought once we got started."

The building has been empty since 2019, and had fallen into a state of disrepair as a result, meaning that the team have had a big job on their hands getting the building ready for the "fun part", but tiling, lighting and decorating has nearly been finished, meaning that the grand opening of the new-look salon is imminent.

The team will be opening the doors to the brand new salon on Friday 3 November, and can't wait to welcome you.

Find GLOW online or in their new home at 34 High Street from Friday.
