Oakham and Uppingham businesses nominated in awards celebrating local independents

Twenty-Three businesses in Oakham and Rutland have been nominated for regional awards which recognise the work of local independents.
The businesses have been named across 15 different categories in the 'Muddy Awards 2026' which are now open for voting.
Organised for the 13th time by online guide Muddy Stilettos Northants, Leics & Rutland, the awards recognise multiple different businesses in each of 21 different categories.
Categories cover best beauty salon to best children's business, and all the finalists have been nominated by the public.
The local nominees are:
- Best Afternoon Tea: The Barnsdale
- Best Beauty Salon / Clinic: Organic Ritual Beauty
- Best Boutique Stay: The Falcon Hotel
- Best Cafe: Fika
- Best Casual Dining: The View, Rutland Nursery, Don Paddy's
- Best Farm Shop / Deli: Otters Fine Foods
- Best Fashion & Interiors: Cavells, Goodwin & Bell
- Best Hair Salon: All Saints, Creme Hair and Beauty, Thomas Hairdressing
- Best Local Pub: The Admiral Hornblower
- Best Restaurant: Hitchen's Barn, No. 23
- Best Sport / Fitness Instructor: Caroline Hemming - Grow to Glow Fitness
- Best Wedding Venue: Exton Park
- Best Wellbeing Specialist: Excellence Physio, The Loft at Rutland Nursery
- Best Wellness Break: Rutland Hall, The Barnsdale
- Best Yoga / Pilates Studio: Barre Red
