The team at Oakham Baptist Church have shared some visuals of how the church could look following an expansion to help accommodate more groups and organisations.

Having been an established part of the community for 250 years, Oakham Baptist Church is hoping to expand to accommodate more community groups and organisations.

After celebrating 250 years at a community party in the park this summer, Oakham Baptists Church is on the brink of unveiling some exciting plans.

Having been inundated with requests to use the community space by local groups and charities, the team have hinted that they will be expanding the venue, and are looking for community feedback to see what would be best for those hoping to use the space.

The team shared the news on social media: "Over the last few years it has been a huge privilege to have opened our doors to the community.

"Our building has become a lifeline for many organisations who have been left without spaces to meet or places to gather and what a joy it has been to host as many groups as possible. But now we are so full we often have to turn groups away.

"And for this reason we have been exploring how we can extend and reconfigure the building so we can offer the building to more community groups."

As a part of this proposal, the public have been invited to come along and find out more about the exciting plans.

These public consultation events will take place on 24 November from 3pm until 5pm, and 25 November from 10am until 12pm.
