Uppingham has welcomed its towering tree as local organisers, groups and charities get ready for the host of annual Christmas events that take place in the town throughout December.
The first of these events is the annual Christmas Late Night Shopping event, which is set to take place on 7 December.
The evening will begin at 5:30pm and will culminate in the Christmas light switch on at approximately 9pm, led by Rutland Radio and a surprise special guest.
Local shops remain open and the evening is packed with live entertainment, music, street performances and pop up food and drink stalls.
Charities and groups will also be in attendance, hosting raffles and fundraising events to support their endeavours and events heading into 2024.
Last but most certainly not least, Father Christmas will be in attendance at his grotto, and the luxury Falcon Hotel will be hosting music and have their own Christmas tree set up in the bar and restaurant area.
Join the community at this magical, festive night on Uppingham Market Square and High Street East.
This week, on Wednesday 22 November, the 117th Christmas Fatstock Show will also be taking place in Uppingham.
A traditional sight in historic market towns, the fat stock show is an event take welcomes farmers and local supporters to the heart of the town to buy and trade livestock ahead of Christmas.
It is the team behind the Fatstock Show who source and erect the Christmas tree, so if you do pop down to the market this week, don't forget to give the hard-working committee a nod.
