Oakham businesses enjoy visit from Rutland and Melton MP

On Friday 23 June, Alicia Kearns MP visited Bradshaw and Taylor, Cavells and Sigma Sports in Oakham to hear more about their role as local employers. 

Alicia Kearns MP, Member of Parliament for Rutland and Melton said: "It was a pleasure to drop by and meet the powerhouses behind our Oakham businesses which continue to go from strength to strength.

She added: "It was fascinating to learn more about the the Bradshaw Taylor business, which first started in Oakham in 1895 trading animal supplies, and has since expanded into a global enterprise. 

"We are very fortunate to have such high-quality brands locally, providing significant employment opportunities for members of our communities, and not to mention a vast range of fantastic clothes and products on our doorsteps."

Bradshaw Taylor is an outdoor and country goods company, representing brands including Schöffel and Le Chameau. Established in 1895, Bradshaw Taylor connects these brands with retailers and consumers in the UK and Europe through a team of over 100 customer service, sales, marketing and distribution specialists.

Cavells, also represented by Bradshaw Taylor, is an independent shop on Mill Street selling designer men's and women's clothes, shoes and accessories. 

Sigma Sports first opened in Oakham in 2020, and showcases two floors of high-quality bikes, clothing and accessories.

This comes as other local businesses join a new loyalty card scheme set up by Carolyn Acton-Reed of Oakham & Rutland Events.
