De Merke Estates are readying themselves to submit a planning application to build as many as 650 houses on land off of Manor Lane, to the west of the B640.

A public consultation took place on the 11th of May 2022 where residents could find out about the plans to build "new homes and community facilities" in Barleythorpe, and voice their own concerns.

An early draft masterplan has been prepared for the site which sets out how new homes could be delivered alongside the potential for a new primary school or other community facilities, public open spaces, and associated infrastructure.

The new development is set to be named The Lookout.

The provision of proposed infrastructure and facilities will depend heavily upon input from Rutland County Council upon submission of the proposal.

Today, the 23rd of May 2022, is the last day for residents to contact the team to share their views and concerns.

Email [email protected] to have your say.

De Merke have provided a range of predicted statistics re local jobs, income and more should the development go ahead
