We are featuring four job roles in Oakham this week - a little bonus in the run up to the festive season! Read on to find out more about roles in HR, the postal services, and hospitality:

  1. Prime Life

Prime Life, who run Rutland Care Village, are looking for a new HR officer to take on the full time role from their Oakham based offices.

About you:

If you have previous HR experience, perhaps as a HR Administrator or HR Officer, then this may just be the opportunity you are looking for!

A minimum of one year hands on, practical experience within an HR capacity is desired. Prior experience within a Healthcare or Health and Social Care setting would be advantageous, together with an understanding of the sensitivity of the regulated services we provide to our clients.

Experience in supporting with occupational health referrals is essential, together with an understanding of how short term absence can impact within the business.

  1. Royal Mail Group
Royal Mail Group are looking for a part-time Delivery Postperson who can drive, based at Oakham Delivery Office. This permanent contract will offer the right candidate 25 hours per week with shifts between 9:00 and 14:00 or 15:00-20:00 5 days per week (Monday - Sunday). The hourly rate is between £8.44 and £10.85, plus an additional £5.83 per hour Sunday premium, and a weekly supplement of £26.61 (pro rata). Successful candidates will be paid weekly, with pay increments after six months and twelve months, subject to satisfactory performance. Royal Mail is one of the UK's best-loved brands. Sort the mail for your route

Check your vehicle and join a colleague for your round

Spend between four and six hours delivering mail outdoors About you: Upbeat and self-motivated: You'll be happy working solo as well as part of a team.

Love of the outdoors: From rural farms to city apartments, corner shops to business parks, you will be out and about whatever the weather (and, this being Britain, it can get quite extreme), six days a week.

Good level of fitness: There's up to six hours per day of walking, so you should relish a role that keeps you fit.

Excellent organisation: You will need to be able to plan your round and make sure you complete all your deliveries in good time.

Resilience: You will be able to work under pressure and with the public, acting as a friendly face that people know and trust.

Flexibility: You will be working in different areas covering your colleagues' holidays, so you might need to adjust your working hours to match your round.

Driving licence requirements:

A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address), with no more than six penalty points is essential, but a clean licence is preferred. Please note you will be required to show this at assessment.

  1. The Admiral Hornblower

The Admiral Hornblower in the centre of Oakham are looking for both kitchen and bar staff.

The first role they are advertising is for a Chef de Partie, which is a full-time, permanent role filling up to 48 hours a week including evenings and weekends.

Pay will be £11.00-£11.50 per hour plus tips.

Your Role:

At the Admiral Hornblower, food quality and looking after people is the key. As the Chef de Partie, you will enjoy delivering excellent food standards, working with quality fresh ingredients to deliver the seasonal menus in a friendly and supportive environment. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will: Have an attention to detail ensuring all dishes are prepared to spec as per your Head Chef's instructions. Support your Sous and Head Chef with food ordering, stock management and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness within the kitchen. As the menus at The Admiral Hornblower change seasonally you will be working with the kitchen team to develop new and exciting dishes for the menu. They are also on the look out for Bar and Waiting Staff Full time and part time hours available to include evenings and weekends and pay will be up to £9.50 per hour plus tips. Your role: At the Admiral Hornblower, food quality and looking after people is the key. As key member of the front of house team, you will assist in all areas of the busy from ensuring guests are greeted with a friendly smile to receiving top service. Other duties include but not limited to: Answer questions about the menu Takes customers' orders for food and drink by writing them on a ticket and inputting them to their table bill Prepares drinks and serves them to customers Collects food orders from the kitchen and serves them to customers Ensures that customers are satisfied with their meals Clear tables of used dishes and dirty glasses for washing Processes cash and credit card payments Setting tables/cleaning them down Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness is kept throughout the business No experience is required for this role but is advantageous. Advanced training and courses are available for the right candidates. Due to the need to serve alcohol, any candidates must be 18+.
