A section of Oakham High Street has been closed for most of the day following a report of assault this morning, Thursday 11 July.

Police were called to High Street shortly before 1.30am today following a report that two men - aged 19 and 21 - and a 30-year-old woman had been assaulted.

One person has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed at approximately 8am that no arrests had yet been made.

The team said: "Officers are carrying out further enquiries following a report of assault in Oakham.

"A scene preservation remains in place in the area and motorists are advised to use alternative routes."
