An Oakham lad has raised more than £1000 for charity- more than ten times his original target.

Isaac lost his locks to help the Little Princess Trust.

Isaac's mum has previously grown her hair and donated it to the charity.

The Little Princess Trust was founded in 2006 and is dedicated to providing real hair wigs for children and young people having experienced first-hand the positive impact a wig can have on a poorly child who loses their hair.

Hair may seem insignificant to some, but it can define people's personality and their very being. It is horrible to find a large amount of hair in the sink and feel 'you' slipping away.

After chatting to his mum, who is growing her hair again for the charity, Isaac decided he wanted to grow his hair for the Little Princess Trust too.

Isaac decided to brave the chop too, which took place last week to coincide with his 11th birthday.

Before the chop, Isaac said on social media: "I have been growing my hair for 18 months, it is about 9 inches long now.

"On my 11th birthday my Daddy's going to shave my head so I can give a present to someone else, the present of hair!

"I'm a little bit nervous because I like my long hair and the next day I will have to go to school bald! But I am determined to do it anyway.

"It costs over £500 to make a wig so I thought I would raise some money to help pay for it as well.

"Please help me raise all this money, I just want to make the world a better place."
