Oakham: Life is reloaded in Rutland thanks to successful town council festival

Oakham enjoyed plenty of post-pandemic fun over the weekend, thanks to the Life Reloaded Festival.

Oakham Town council organised the successful event in Cutts Close Park, which featured music, stalls and entertainment.

Yesterday saw another great day of music from CJ Hatt Music and Funked Up.

There was also stalls from local businesses and community groups and free fairground rides for the kids.

Town mayor Zoe Nealson posted on Facebook: "Almost everyone was up on their feet dancing, including Alice and Stuart who had just got married at the castle and couldn't resist coming down when they heard the music!"

Saturday featured had some amazing music from Gavin Ball, Band On The Run and Vesper, in addition to the stalls.

The weekend received rave reviews on social media.

Rutland MP Alicia Kearns said: This weekend's festival at Cutts Close Park was so lovely. A day of music, food, local stalls and laughter. I haven't been on tea cups for years!

"Well done Oakham Town Council!"

Fiona Calder said on Facebook: "It was great that it was supported and to see people out, relaxed and enjoying themselves but also being Covid aware."

Angie Hall said: "It was so good."

Andy Hill commented: "Cracking afternoon, really enjoyed the music and seeing people out and about, enjoying themselves."

Lizzie Jordan added: "We had a lovely time this afternoon.

The Oakham Town Council Concerts continue next week with Rutland Choral Society performing from 2.30 until 4.30 on Sunday August 1, as previously reported by Nub News.
