Oakham: Local charity Oakham Community Fridge reopens at Oakham Station today

By Evie Payne

1st Apr 2022 | Local News

Formerly based in Mill Street, Oakham Community Fridge have moved to Oakham Station and are opening their doors today, the 1st of April 2022.

The Community Fridge projects in Uppingham and Oakham offer a solution to wasting less food through sharing surplus food with the community and those in need.

They stock their fridge and freezer with surplus food from supermarkets and from other local food retailers and allotment holders to pass on to anyone in our community. All the food they offer is free.

The Community Fridge is open from 10am until 11:30am today.

The team posted on their Facebook page: "A huge THANK YOU to Knights of Oakham for helping us with the move yesterday. Oakham Community Fridge will be operating from these new premises starting next week - Friday 1st April, at the usual time opening at 10am 'til 11.30am. We look forward to seeing you there on Friday!"
