A man has been sentenced to eight years and six months imprisonment after being convicted of engaging in sexual activity with two girls who were under the age of 16.

Ryan Dustan, 22, of Purdy Court, Oakham, had pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in sexual activity with a girl who was aged between 13 and 15.

Following a trial at Leicester Crown Court, he was found guilty on Friday (3 May) of a further three counts of the same offence against a second victim who was also aged between 13 and 15.

Dustan was also convicted of a count of voyeurism against a third victim, who was not under 16. This relates to the defendant filming a sexual act on his phone.

All the offences were committed in the Oakham area in 2016.

It was after the victim of the voyeurism offence reported it to police and a charge was made that the other victims came forward. Further extensive enquiries were carried out leading to the further charges being made.

Today (7 May), at the same court, Dustan was also made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years. He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Detective Constable Andy Moore said: "Dustan committed a number of serious sexual offences which involved girls who were under 16 at the time.

"It is thanks to the bravery and courage of all of the victims involved that we were able to carry out a thorough investigation which ultimately led to this conviction.

"We do believe there may be other victims of this defendant who have not yet come forward to us.

"I urge you, and any victim of any sexual offence, to report it to police. You will be taken seriously, full support will be provided to you and we will do everything we can to ensure justice for you."
