Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a cash machine was stolen from the outside the Burley Road Co-operative supermarket in Oakham on Monday the 4th of April 2022.

The incident happened around 3.50am in Burley Road.

The Police believe that a JCB digger, which was stolen from a nearby farm just prior to the incident, was used to remove the standalone machine from the store's carpark.

From enquiries carried out so far it appears three men loaded the cash machine onto the back of a vehicle - described as a dark coloured flatbed 4x4.

They then left the scene, travelling along the B668.

The digger was subsequently abandoned and has been recovered by police.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area during the early hours of this morning and may have information that could assist.

They are asked to call 101, quoting incident 22*189921.
