Following a successful inaugural Pride event in June 2022, Oakham Pride have begun to plan a host of events for 2023, including their second Pride day and now a masquerade ball.

Instigated by Abii Lavery and organised by Lucy Slessor and a host of loyal committee members, Oakham Pride saw hundreds of Oakham residents flock to Cutts Close and Oakham Castle for a day of festivities on 25 June 2022.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community, including allies and friends, set off from Cutts close and marched through Oakham town centre into Oakham Castle, where stalls and entertainment went on throughout the day.

Buoyed up by such a successful event, the group began planning Oakham pride 2023, and now even more Pride events are filling up the social calendar.

The newest addition to the lineup is the Pride Masquerade ball, to be held at Victoria Hall on 27 May 2023.

Local LGBTQ+ community members will host and perform, including Cinder Hella, Doctor Fuzz and Fyzz Wallis Band.

Families will be welcome from 6:30pm, with the event being strictly over 18's from 8:30pm. Over 18's will pay £12 for a ticket and funds will go towards this year's Pride day event.

Early Bird tickets can be purchased for £10.50 by emailing [email protected] and via PayPal. Ensure that you use 'Masquerade Ball Tickets' as your email title.
