Oakham: Rutland group urge parents of SEND children to fill in Rutland based survey
Following the release of an SEND statement from Rutland County Council, Mrs Gillions and a group of SEND parents have released a survey for local parents to fill in regarding the care of their own children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities under Rutland County Council.
Mrs Gillions said: "We wish to reach out to parents who are not necessarily in the support network already, and we wish to use the information to present to RCC and to help us work together with them to find solutions to the local SEND crisis."
The SEND Survey can be found online while anyone with queries regarding the content or discussion can contact the group directly at [email protected].
The group and members of the SEND community are attending an open public meeting, with Rutland County Council and the Rutland Parent Carer Voice, on March the 17th to discuss the best path to take going forwards. This meeting will take place at 10am at Oakham Baptist Church, and all are welcome.
Tickets for this event are free but should be pre booked through the link.
The Rutland Parent Carer Voice group is made up of dedicated parents and carers of children aged from 0-25 with a disability or special educational need who live in Rutland.
The members volunteer their time and are committed to improving the quality of the lives of families dealing with all kinds of disabilities and additional needs. Theirs is the official voice representing all of Rutland's parents and carers.
Enabling them to work alongside Rutland county Council throughout this process, RPCV have asked that any questions or discussion points be sent to them on or before the 14th of March to [email protected].
