An Oakham shop is under new management.

The Mace Shop and convenience store on Ashwell Road has changed hands, and is stocking a wider variety of items, including food, household items, magazines and more.

New owner, Alexandra Blaga, took over management of the store in July and has been hard at work making improvements and refining the opening times of the store.

Ms Balga said: "We have put a lot of work in and have new stock available. We are selling fresh milk, bacon, sausages and sandwiches and have new cold and dry storage."

She added: "We are still changing the opening hours, but are open seven days a week."

Alexandra and the team look forward to welcoming customers new and old back to The Mace Shop.

This isn't the only local venue under new management.

The neighbouring fish and chip shop, Oakham Fish Bar, was also taken over by a brand new team in December 2022.

Last week, The Lord Nelson pub in Oakham Market Place also welcomed a new manager, although it remains under the Knead Pubs banner.
