Storm Eunice has prompted the closure of venues and attractions across the county and both the Council and Police have warned residents to stay inside where possible.

Rutland Water has closed due to the heavy winds and rain today. Anglian Water said: "For safety reasons Rutland Water will be closed for all access this Friday. If you were planning a trip on Friday we kindly ask that you postpone your visit for another day."

A great deal of wooded areas have also been closed and residents warned to be careful on any heavily wooded footpaths. Bourne Wood car park has also been closed.

Two other venues that have made the decision to close are Welland Vale Garden Centre and Burley Parkland and it's Orchard Café, Orangery Restaurant, and shop.

Finally, Rutland Council have closed their tips at Cottesmore and and Morcott this afternoon due to the safety risk for both staff and the public.

To reiterate, if they need help and support, residents can contact Rutland County Council by calling 01572 722577 or emailing: [email protected].

To contact the Council with any out of hours emergencies overnight you can call: 01858464499.

Alternatively you can contact Leicestershire police by calling their non-emergency number: 101 or filling in an online contact form.
