Oakham-based Two Chimps Coffee made it to the finals of this year's BizX Best E-Commerce Business Awards, recognised for their brilliant business practices and customer experience. 

Former wedding photographers Andy and Laura founded Two Chimps in 2016, building their own coffee roastery from scratch.  

"We are so proud of our little team," said co-founder Andy. "As this was our second year attending the BizX conference, we felt like we had more of a grasp on the day-to-day events, but we were definitely not prepared to be one of the top five Best E-Commerce Businesses in the UK!" 

BizX is a two-day conference held annually with speakers, this year in Farnborough, with workshops and networking opportunities for businesses, aiming to help businesses grow with the help of guest speakers.

Speaking about the awards, Laura said: "One of the most memorable moments at BizX 2025 was seeing our logo on the board as one of the five finalists for the Best E-Commerce business! It felt like a total pinch-me moment! The best part was sharing the news with our small team. We were all incredibly excited because we had spent the last 12 months focusing on improving our website. This success proved to us that our hard work was worth it!" 

Founded in 2016, Two Chimps are a small seven-person team based in the heart of Rutland, working to open up the world of speciality coffee to everyone. They hope to make coffee culture less complicated and exclusive and more fun and accessible for everyone. 

As a business, they are constantly coming up with new ideas, new coffees and new business goals. This year they are focussing on growing their customer base for more customers and stockists buying from them.  

"Our vision is to provide better coffee that doesn't cost us the earth," said Andy and Laura, "and our mission is to introduce more people to better coffee while keeping our planet, our growers and our customers our number one priority. With this core goal, our customers can be confident in what they get when they click the order button (and get to join our troop in the process!) It's a win-win! 

"We also owe our success also to our little team that makes everything possible! We all truly have the joint goal of making this crazy treehouse the best it can be! Whether that's from a customer service perspective or new ways to reduce our waste as part of our Net Zero goals, we are consistently amazed by what we can achieve when we are all passionate about working towards the same goal!"
