Oakham Town Council have celebrated a successful evening of fundraising at their Christmas Disco Extravaganza event on Saturday 10 December, announcing that an impressive £400 was raised for Girlguiding Rutland.

Oakham Town Council shared on their social media: "What a fantastic night on Saturday at the Victoria Hall. £400 was raised for Rutland girl guides. Thank you to everyone who came."

Girlguiding Rutland are the chosen charity of Oakham Mayor, Sally-Anne Wadsworth, who has been present at a range of local events fundraising for the local group since her appointment in May of this year.

Sally-Anne, who is already incredibly involved with Oakham's young community and is the guardian of her granddaughter, announced her support for Girlguiding Rutland on the run up to the Lord-Lieutenant's Party in the Park earlier this year. Here, Oakham Town Council held a tombola where they raised just over £200 for the group.

Congratulations to all involved in these fundraising efforts.
