Members of Oakham Town Council have agreed that they will replace a damaged public waste bin at a cost of £380.

Speaking at a full town council meeting on 22 February, Oakham Town Mayor, Cllr Sally-Anne Wadsworth, said: "To maintain the look of our community it is proposed that the town council pay for the cost of replacing the damaged public waste bin on the bypass in Oakham just past Heron Road.

"The council has two options available to do this: firstly, the polythene unit will cost in the region of £380 per bin to purchase and install.

"The second option is for a glass fibre composite unit which will cost in the region of £560 to purchase and install."

Members unanimously agreed to purchase and install the polythene unit for £360 to replace the bin that has been damaged.
