Popular and long-standing Oakham eatery, Rutland Balti House, are introducing a range of new deals and meals on Sunday 18 December, and owner and manager, Abdul Khalique, has been speaking to us at Oakham Nub News about some of the dishes and deals on the menu, as well as exploring his passion for the family-run business.

Abdul travelled to the United Kingdom 33 years ago and took up work as a waiter at the very venue he now runs.

The Balti House is cosy and the food is wholesome.

Abdul explained how his hard-work paid off and he was offered the restaurant by former boss and owner of the Balti House: "My boss at the time wanted to retire and offered Rutland Balti House for me to takeover and own. 30 years later here I am still running this business."

Abdul has been running Rutland Balti House since 1992, and has had a successful 30 years of providing eat-in and takeaway food to discerning Rutland residents.

Abdul added: "This business was setup 30 years ago in 1992, due to my passion for Indian cuisine, hospitality and wanting to run a business of my own. I really have taken a liking to the Rutland area and have forged a really good relationship with my all of customers."

Now, Abdul and the team offer a range of authentic Indian, Bangladeshi, Pakistani dishes, as well as an affordable range of drinks and popular side dishes.

Adbul added: "Some of the best sellers we currently have are the Masala, Balti & Tawa dishes."

They can accomodate couples, families, and larger groups.

From 18 December 2022, the team will be introducing their new Sunday Banquet. Every Sunday, for the whole day, Rutland residents will be able to take advantage of a new menu for under £15 – this will include a starter, main dish, side dish, rice & naan.

On top of this, there will be Taali Dishes, which comprise of a combination of multiple items, introduced on a Sunday, also costing less than £15 per person.

Abdul said: "Business has been going well over the last 30 years, we have been long standing in Rutland and I hope this continues as we are very well known in the community as a standout traditional and authentic curry house.

"It is important to support local business, and we personally enjoy Amigos Pizza - takeaway is one of our own strengths, and we love good food.

"We look forward to seeing Rutland residents for dine-in and takeaway soon!"

They have a large bar for you to choose from too.
