25th Feb 2022 | Local News

In Oakham this weekend you can have a laugh with Comedy Night at The Grainstore, kit yourself out with a new and pre-loved wardrobe at the Pillings Road Men's Clothes Sale, or enjoy some brilliant live music from Manky Beds, just up the road in Langham.

  1. Comedy at The Grainstore
Funhouse Comedy Club returns to Oakham's Grainstore Brewery on Thursday the 24th of February for more fun and laughter. Topping the bill is the "intrinsically funny" Lloyd Griffith, comedian, choirboy and 'aspiring' goalkeeper who has supported Jack Whitehall and Rob Beckett on tour. He has also made numerous TV appearances including as regular host on Sky Sports' Soccer AM and on Comedy Central Live at The Comedy Store. The event starts at 8pm but visitors can come in early for some delicious, classic pub grub or to catch up over a pint of The Grainstore's iconic local beers, from Panther to Osprey and everything in between.
  1. Men's Good and New Clothes Sale

On Friday the 25th of February from 5pm - 8pm and Saturday the 26th of February from 9am - 12pm, For Rutland will be hosting a Men's Good and New Clothes sale at 33 Pillings Road, Oakham.

For Rutland is a fundraising group of Citizens Advice Rutland who support the local community.

Have fun and help to raise funds to cover the cost of the Specialist Advisers based at Citizens Advice Rutland who give non-medical advice to people of all ages living with long-term health conditions in Rutland and the surrounding community.

Shop sustainability to help the environment at the same time by investing in good quality used, new, and pre-loved clothes and accessories at bargain prices.

On sale there will be suits, shirts, jackets, dinner suits and shoes - everything you will need for day-to-day life in Rutland, as well as those spring and summer events that are fast approaching!

The Friday sale will take place from 5pm until 8pm, while the Saturday event will be running from 9am until 12pm, giving you the rest of your weekend to don your new wears and hit the town.

Entry is free.

See you there!
