As spring approaches, Oakham is getting in the mood with a range of events to get you ready for everything the new season brings.

Enjoy pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, visit the Normanton Wedding Fayre in the run up to the wedding season, or kit yourself out with a new spring wardrobe at the good and new clothes sale at Barnsdale Lodge.

1. Good and New Clothes Sale

This weekend, Barnsdale Lodge Hotel are hosting the Good and New Clothes Sale. The first night of the Good & New Clothes Sale will be running on Friday the 4th of March 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The Friday sale is a ticket only event. Tickets are available from [email protected] for £20. Money raised goes towards supporting Citizens Advice Rutland, a local charity who helps residents in need of emotional, financial, and domestic advice and support. A glass of champagne & canapés are kindly being provided by Hambleton Hall on the first night of the event. As an added bonus, many items will be marked at 50% off on the Friday night. Anyone wishing to donate clothes please email [email protected]. On Saturday the 6th of March, the sale will begin again at 8:30am and run until 1:00pm and tickets are only £5. There are not only preloved clothes on sale, but also new clothes and accessories for men, women and children. By buying good quality, preloved clothes, you will be helping the sustainability of our environment and bagging yourself a bargain. We will see you there!

1. Welland Vale Pancake Week

Another event you can enjoy across the weekend, Welland Vale Garden Centre are celebrating Pancake day in style by hosting a week long pancake extravaganza.

The Garden Centre will be offering a range of sweet and savoury crepes and American style pancakes until the 6th of March!

Visitors can find this family friendly event in the Orchard Cafe which opens between 9:00am and 15:30pm every day apart from Sunday, when it opens an hour later at 10am.

1. Normanton Park Hotel Wedding Fayre

Another spring weekend brings with it another wedding fayre, this time at the glorious Normanton Park Hotel. The Normanton Park Hotel Wedding Fayre will take place on Sunday 6th March 2022 from 10.30am until 2.30pm. Bride and grooms-to-be can get tickets for this event via Eventbrite where you can book time slots to ensure that the fayre is not too crowded. Admission and parking are free. The team can't wait to welcome you to the stunning Normanton Park Hotel on the edge of Rutland Water to meet lots of local wedding suppliers and to discuss ideas for your special day. Suppliers will include:
